The Rocky Interactive Horror Show is an adventurous adult rock and roll love story (based on the movied of the same title) with a Transylvanian twist, a little dash of science fiction and a large amount of humour. In the game you are offered the opportunity to play the characters of either Brad or Janet. At the very beginning one of the characters will be turned into stone when they arrive at Frank N Furter’s doorstep. Whichever character you choose will then be searching for nine pieces of a Demedusa Machine that will allow you to rescue your friend.
You have to work quickly because Frank’s place will transform into a space shuttle and be heading home to the planet Transsexual Transylvania.
The game is very detailed and has interesting graphics with some humorous animations, a few entertaining puzzles, and there are so many locked doors that you might go crazy. For an adventure game you wouldn’t expect a ticking clock timing you. In this game you only have thirty minutes in real time to sort things out. You are able to get more time on your clock through various stages during the game and every Demedusa piece you locate will help out in getting more time on the clock.
Even though you are discovering time bonuses throughout the game, there are also obstacles that will
drain your time. There are characters throughout the map that are determined to destroy your progress. They can do nasty things such as removing your clothes making it that you have to locate all your clothes before you can continue on with your search. The downside to this is that the clock continues to tick on while you are searching around.
To navigate around the game you will be using the keyboard. At first it may be a little difficult but as you further along through the game you will get the hang of things. There are certain keys that will allow you to go through your inventory and pressing the enter key or spacebar allows you to use objects and interact with your environment.
The game is very entertaining with the loads of things that you find and use. With the puzzles being both logical and silly it can make puzzle solving quite tricky but fun at the same time.
The Rocky Interactive Horror Show is a great game that has a lot of charm. The game definitely should be started over if you run out of time, but with every time you do so you get quicker as you’ve done it a few times now. The manual will come in handy at times because there are a few hints in there to help you out. No matter if you are a Rocky Horror fan or not this game will keep you thrilled the entire time. You will no matter what have tons of fun figuring out this quirky but over the top game.
