Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego is a very enjoyable game from my childhood. You are introduced to the organization called ACME, who puts extensive work into catching a famous criminal, Carmen Sandiego, hence the title. She steals numerous treasures from all over the world, and your job is to arrest her and her numerous goons by taking back things that Carmen and her comrades stole and using them as clues to catch all of them. The story is entertaining, and the characters you meet along the way tend to be stereotypical villains taken straight from comic book guidelines.

The characters are entertaining, despite being stereotypical, however.
The game takes you to very many locations across the globe to find stolen items, criminals,
and clues hinting at where to find Carmen Sandiego. The game gives you a sense of satisfaction when you go through all of its locations, and the whole experience is just entertaining.
As for the graphics, they're excellent for their time, showing an enormous amount of detail in every locale but if a remake was to be done, I would expect a major graphics renovation, but still, this game has the look that it should for its style of gameplay.
For the music element of this game, it was actually done in a very cool way, having different music in every different country, that fits the theme of each country closely, like the US having urban style music.
But what about the gameplay, the part that makes the game? Rest assured, it's great. You go from country to country to find the essential clues needed to catch the antagonists. As previously mentioned, you need the clues to catch the criminals, and it is very challenging to find some of those clues, as some of them are just ridiculously difficult to find. Let's just say that for a good portion of this game, I needed to look up guides online to figure out what to do next. However, the pure sense of satisfaction you get from figuring out what the clues mean is a large amount. Plus, not only do you get great gameplay, but you also learn new and interesting facts about the locations that you may have never known before!
Basically, when it comes to getting this game, I would not hesitate to download this game, as it's free, so you have nothing to lose. Go ahead. Download it. You deserve it.
