This is a great classic game. You play as a boy that has a pet blob. The blob posses the ability to change into various objects from trampolines to ladders to help you over come lots of different problems throughout the levels. But to have him turn into one of these shapes you need to feed him different flavoured jelly beans. With your bag of jelly beans and your trusty blob at your side you set off to save the planet Blobolonia and fly from your home planet of earth.
It is an extremely fun game but not for the mild hearted as it is an extremely challenging game. You must track your way across the levels to collect different treasures that will allow you to save this planet.
The game is a platformer style game kinda like the original Mario but with puzzles instead. Perhaps you come to a gap in the ground. You need to figure out what type of jellybean to feed your blob to get you past this obstacle. If you’re a fan of games like lemmings or other problem solving games you will probably enjoy this game. Even if you don't like the game I’ve never seen anyone not have fun picking up the controller and making the blob transform
into different things, or the fun of seeing what will the next jelly bean do. Sometimes it’s just as entertaining seeing how you can kill yourself this time.
The Game is extremely long and at time you will probably find yourself banging your head unless you’re a video game prodigy. At points you will find you overthrow the jellybean and waste it. Or the slightest miscalculation will cost you a life. And in a game with no continues or saves it can be a very frustrating experience having to start over from the first level. If you like very challenging games then this is for you though. You will find yourself glued to the game because the same puzzle keeps defeating you, but make sure to take breaks because the frustration will beat you down. You may find yourself at times tempted to chuck your NES but none the less will find your self minutes later sitting in front of it not letting a game get the best of you.
Overall this is a very original game and very entertaining. A game that will take patience and practice to beat. Definitely worth adding to your collection. A classic none the less.
