You play Elen Ripley. The alien creatures have killed the marines on the colonial planet LV-426 and now you are on your own to survive the horror. This game is your usual first-person shooter of shooting monsters and unlocking doors, now isn't that refreshing for a first person shooter? This game isn't all that exciting unless you are perhaps a big fan of the Alien Trilogy, but on second thought this would probably prove to be very disappointing. It is very loosely based off of Aliens, but they persist in calling it Alien TRILOGY.

Graphics: Very pixelly. If you don't mind this and are understanding that this game is about 11 years old, then it may not bother you too much. Lackluster graphics makes it hard to distinguish
inanimate 3d models and things that the player can interact with.
Controls: I don't really care for them all that much. Controls aren't as flexible as that of Duke, and furthermore, many other first person shooters.
Originality: Not all that much creativity was involved. It seems as if Acclaim created this game to make a quick buck off of a license. No real thought can really be seen in this game. Kill stuff, find keys. Seems a tad bit cookie cutter to me.
Gameplay: This might have scared me when I was 7 playing this. The gameplay is by no means jaw dropping. I do find nostalgic is the sounds of the smart gun blaring. In fact this whole game could be considered nostalgia. The only reason for me playing this game is I used to own the Playstation version of this so I decided to get the PC version to fulfill some sort of childhood nostalgia. Was disappointed with the gameplay.
So-So controls, so-so graphics, so-so gameplay. If you're a fan of the alien series, by all means try it out, if not you can live without this game. If you really want to play a really good FPS, please check out Duke Nukem 3D or any of the Doom games. If you need to feed your craving for an Aliens fix, your best alternative would be to get yourself a copy of either Alien Vs. Predator: Gold Edition with all of its great little extras, or the even better Alien Vs. Predator 2, which sports great graphics, great gameplay, support for online play and a SKIRMISH mode. Play it if you want, I myself do not recommend it so much.
