In this game, the world’s spectator sports have evolved from mild-mannered games of baseball or horse racing to Assault Rigs, a killing arena featuring massive battle techs. Assault Rig pilots from all over the
world compete for Power Gems and the coveted title of The World Net Champion. Fans from everywhere can log onto the Net and cheer on their favorite pilots in the most lethal and destructive rigs.
The Assault Rig battle arena is not simply a round dome where contestants shoot it out. It is much more complex than that. There are forty different mazes for the battle meshes to cruise around, and all of them feature different obstacles and traps, such as push blocks, trenches, skyways, push rods not to mention enemies. All of the maze sections are connected via ramps. The forty mazes are part of one of four different environments, which dictate the type of rig the user will be able to pilot. Each environment offers the user a choice of three rigs, with their own balanced strengths and weaknesses, such as fast and maneuverable with low fire power, or slow and lethargic with excellent battle armor. Aside from the variety of tanks available, the game features about twenty weapon power ups, this can drastically change the effectiveness of any single rig. Some of the weapon upgrades include: homing missiles, laser guns, and bouncing ammunition. The different environments include: World at War, Steam Punk, Military, and Hybrid VR. Each of these environments offers the user a unique look and feel.
Not only does the game offer competitive single player action, head-to-head multiplayer action is excellent, and there is nothing better than battling it out with a buddy.
Assault Rigs is a great first person three-dimensional shooter. Its battle tech theme is one that will appeal to many users and offer the opportunity to do some real damage in the arena mazes. Most gamers should find some fun in this download, and it is highly recommended for play.
