If you liked the original 2D side scrolling fighter, this game is great. A lot of fun for anyone, who has played this version on the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System), for the ones that haven't got in for a treat. Don't expect great graphics or it to be extremely difficult, but, overall it’s a fun game. Battling from stage to stage, or from train car to train car, Bad Dudes has always been one of my favourite classic games from the arcade, then it moved to Nintendo, so I couldn't help but trying it on the PC.

Overall, gameplay is based pretty much on button smashing and not much real skill, just alot of dodging out of the way of projectiles and
then punching away at the bad guys. The controls are very simple and easy to get used to. It will take a lot of practice dodging and slamming those buttons to get to the end, but it will be well worth it and you can move on. The game isn't very long and could probably be beating in a week or less, if you put a lot of effort into it and there isn't much replay value.
The overall plot of the game is to fight your way through (sometimes monotonous AI), to save the president. Pretty good storyline, although the game never puts all of it together very well. Although, just going from level to level beating on all the thugs in this game is worth hours of entertainment.
The overall graphics of this game is not much to get excited over, not bad though, for the time that this game was originally made.
The overall sound of the game is sometimes scratchy, but for the most part not bad.
It would be great if someday they would remake this game using 3D graphics and great AI to give the fan world the Bad Dudes in all of its glory.
If your looking for a game to kill some time or have played Bad Dudes in the past this game will probably suit you very well. If not then there are plenty of other 2D side scrolling fighters out there (example: Batman, Double Dragon, Robocop, River City Ransom) If 2D side scrollers aren't your cup of tea, here is some other games to check out (Mario Bros., Zork, Deja Vu, Road Rash, Dig Dug, Castlevania (Simons Quest), Joust).
