This one is an interesting game; it's a somewhat new take on a very classic gaming style. You essentially go around with upgradeable weapons and grenades killing off all of the mutants. The Game offers some level variety from high-rises to sewers to forests, but the boss fights are probably the most interesting part of this game taking more skill and tactics then other parts, even so I can only give this game a mediocre rating.
The enemies that you face will vary from little jumpers that sneak up on you (my least favorite) to large laser wielding baddies who you'll have to use tactics (or grenades) to defeat.

puzzles. Most of the puzzles consist of find the key, open the door, which can get frustrating at times especially when the key is in fact hidden in a room which you can only access through a broken window (that one took me a while to figure out).
Playing this game is reminiscent of some of the older Duke Nukem series but doesn’t quite hold up to it, same with the keen series (off which the engine is based). Actually out of the games that fall into the genre of shoot everything that moves I would have to pick my favorite as Halloween Harry which has both great weapon variety and power-ups and graphics. I would have to say that Bio Menace's graphics fall a bit shot while decent for the time they don’t quite hold up to the later standard of apogee. Except for the first keen I would say that most apogee games do better graphics wise.
They do a reasonable job in the first level with background cars and your crashed plane but most of the middle levels seem to lack this amount of detail. Your main weapon in the game is a standard machine gun however without maintained upgrades it can only fire one shot at a time the second level upgrade gives you 5x damage for a certain period. The second upgrade of fire is tactically necessary to defeat certain enemies while maintaining a reasonable amount of health. Grenades have a slightly better upgrade system grenade, mine. The mine is the most tactically useful good for dropping in front of slime monsters running away and shooting in their direction.
