Game Review 1 (written by Torse) Added on: 11/28/2006
Well, what can I say about Blood, in my very point of view, one of the best 3D Shooting games I have ever played that has been created in that time. This game was made by Monolith, and I really don’t understand why they dint make many games of this kind, because this one is really good, even though this game wasn’t that popular at it was Doom or Duke Nukem 3D, well it was known but not as it deserve it.
I had played a lot of 3D shooting games and I didn’t know this one since now, when I played it for the first time, I really like it, and I can tell you that this game doesn’t stays low comparing it from the others. Besides that, I don’t know, but when I played this game it remind me Shadow Warrior and Duke Nukem 3D, because the graphics are very similar to those games, I guess that Ken Silverman was the engine designer, of course this ones are very different.
Lets see the game itself, I think it hasn’t been a game with much blood and gore as this one in that time, if you do not like to see blood anywhere

(even in games) this one is not for you, but if you like gore and violent games with lots of blood, this is your game, simple. The environment is hard to say, but let’s suppose that is a mixed environment, because from castles and cemetery you go to modern places like technological bases, so let’s say that the scenarios are varied. Other things to highlight, are the weapons, you use 9 different weapons from flare gun to pulsar gun and others, in the way you advanced in the game you will find an item that improved your weapon, as the akimbo guns, in which you have double weapons of a kind, for example, you use at a time two flare guns, two shotguns, etc.
The enemies are pretty good, from zombies to invisible ghosts make the game more exciting, also its 5 large and intense episodes with 8 levels each one makes the game also large with lots of fun. In each level, you have to find the way out, for that you will find locked doors, so you will need to, not only survive yourself, but to solve the puzzle of each level and find the keys to make your way through each level. But I’m afraid that if your trying to find an story for the game you wont find it, cause it doesn’t says any story at the beginning, your just a Dracula that are hungry and that in order to keep your health well you’ll need to kill your enemies and eat their hearts. Of course the game has 5 different difficulty levels that make the game more challenging.
The graphics for 1997 are pretty good; the details in general are excellent, such as the weapons, the enemies, the way that your enemy dies, so in conclusion, the details of the game are pretty nice. Well I guess that’s it, an excellent game that worth’s a try.

Game Review 2 (written by Resolami) Added on: 09/28/2006
I first played "Blood" around the time it came out. I didn't have the full version yet but was impressed with its FPS quality. Being an avid Doom fan, I was used to this type of game, but this one was unique enough to notice its difference and originality. The graphics is the best looking to us now, but given the time frame in which it came out I think they are great.
The monsters look really good (especially when dead, naturally). As I recall there were some cool weapons exclusive to this title. Sadly, after my computer upgrade I lost a lot of stuff from my old hard drive, including this program. To my dismay I couldn't find Blood again for awhile because I didn't really know where to find it, and wasn't even aware of this amazing website.
I would recommend you have sound turned on while playing this game, if only for the sake of hearing the witty comments your character says. Maybe this guy doesn't have as many sexual references as duke nukem, but there is still humor to be found. If you want a comparison, the closest ones would be Doom and Duke Nukem, only because they are very successful titles and Blood is worthy of being looked at alongside them. The best part is that this game doesn't directly copy either of these games, yet offers as much excitement as both of them. A quick warning: you may find yourself developing an addiction to Blood almost immediately.
I remember playing it for prolonged periods of time without even realizing. It's been said in other reviews but just to reassure you, it does have a lot of blood/gore in it. Some people might have stopped reading right there and began their search for a new game, and for those people I feel sorry for. Those of you still reading that a little bit of blood doesn't scare; I applaud you and think that you have found what you've been looking for. Besides, who needs a nice Pentium 4 processor anyway, or even windows for that matter when you've got games like this? Another plus is that you can easily access this game through this website even when not at your own PC; I found this while using my free time in web tech class. Basically, you will love playing this game if you have any interest in FPSs at all. So get at it!
