Game Review (written by Newalbanyshawn) Added on: 02/11/2007
Oh man, Castlevania came out when I was about 15 years old. I remember we had just got a Nintendo and I had read about this game and wanted it badly. I eventually talked my mom into buying it for me and my brother.
This game at the time had better music then any other game in stores. I loved the castlevania theme and it is still one of my most favourite Komani games.
Now to the game, you are Simon Belmont and you must find and destroy the vampire known as Dracula.

Now to the game, you are Simon Belmont and you must find and destroy the vampire known as Dracula. This was not easy of coarse, there were many levels until you actually reached him and there were many creatures to keep you occupied until you actually got to the

count, but it was fun making your way through the levels on your way to Dracula. I remember this game started you outside and you had to make your way to Dracula’s castle. Once inside you had to make your way through Dracula’s little fun house filled with many stair cases and holes in the floor. I remember if you were hurt you had to use you whip on the candles and a heart would float down giving you new life. There were two different sizes of hearts too, the small one floated down and the large one just fell on the ground as it was much heavier then the small one and gave you more life. You also found better whips doing that as well.
Other then Dracula I think Medusa was one of the hardest monsters to fight, because you had to look away until the right moment before you could whip her then you had to look away again, doing this until you finally beat her.
There were some scenes in the game where you had to jump and I remember jumping was one of the things about this game that was kind of difficult. You had to time your jumping just right or risk being toast or having at the very least to climb all the way back up where you had once came through and when you fell you had to fight the monsters all over again.
I think the skeletons in the game was the coolest you would beat them down and then a few minutes later they would arise again and if you weren’t past them you would have to beat them down once again.
I would recommend it to anyone that has never tried it.
