Game Review (written by Gaussminigun) Added on: 10/08/2006
Despite the weird visuals as you move your mouse around, it's quite a unique gem when you compare it among duke nukem 3d or doom. Well forget those two, this one is great by a long shot, extremely similar to quake, hexen, or heretic, but it's got a smoother look to it, and much more blood that's not for your little brother to see, but it's the thought that counts. The game might seem kind of repetitive near the end, but surprisingly it has great replay value.
It controls well and the action if fast paced, not many puzzles like doom.
It starts with a one-on-one intro from this captain dude and some other scientist character, with GREAT voiceovers, but man, watching their mouths move while they are talking is pretty hilarious. Later on, you're assigned a mission to go around this base just shooting and collecting everything in sight. It is a decent intro level, but it gets much more chaotic on later levels, with crazier guns, nasty and scary enemies, neat level design, everything. The story is kind of interesting too, traveling to different times (past, present, future) to kill different enemies and such, what are you actually trying to investigate? I'll leave that for you to explore.
The enemies are the

craziest part of this game, shooting those little creeps in different parts of the body sends of visceral amounts of blood, guts, and meat....lots of meat...into different directions...quite scary.
Maybe it's just me, but this is kind of like the resident evil of shooting games, every time I turn myself around the corner, there's this massive dude growling at me and my heart rate shoots up like crazy, so it's got a nice touch of suspense to it.
Due to the weird visuals when looking around in both axis do give you a headache after a while, but after you get use to it, you'll give this game a neat 8.5 out of 10. The controls are good and entirely configurable.
There is a multiplayer (but I'm not sure if it is in this version) much like quake, but I have not tried it before, though I'm sure sending meat chunks off your LAN friend's face is fun…
