Game Review (written by Archiangel) Added on: 09/26/2007
Of all the Wolfienstien and Doom alike that were made in the era this game is actually more fun to play and easier to interact with.
You are a Recon Specialist sent to a lab where something has "gone terribly wrong", but unlike other types of Doom-alike your bosses actually know that something bad and violent happen in a secret government lab and you are being sent fully equipped and able to deal with any situation.
The major advantage of being a cyber-wired super soldier, all geared up, is your short ranged and long range Bio-scanner that distinguish between Human (as in the Scientist in trouble) with a "safe" dot and any hostile (and lose) experimental life forms with a "hostile" dot in both the long range and short range mode.

range mode.
Your weapons are varied but be careful as there are "innocents" wondering around that you are there to access the situation from and Rescue.
The further you get down into the lab the mystery unravels and there may have been "no Mistakes made" after all....which of course you are able to not only report but remedy as well. And of course as with all special agent types, if your mission fails there is no record of you or your mission and you are "expendable"...
The official Mission: Look for survivors and Clear Level by Level the Lab of any hostile situation. (How much the mission considers "effective" depends on your Rank) and lastly resolve the root of the problem (on a need to know basis of course).
Spoilers: Turns out that a relic of some sort is being worked on in the Secret lab. It was found on Mars and being studied as proof of life on Mars but it was "booby trapped" and some kind of dimensional gate was opened so some of the things running around the Secret base aren't freed experiments but Invaders coming through the dimension gate.
The Best thing besides the Bio-scanner that lets you know a baddie is coming around the corner is that the default weapon is a nuclear powered Laser. This sucker never runs out of juice though the bigger baddies may need to be shot several times to have them die proper.
Also another advantage is the ‘borrow, steal, kill’ format that allows you to take baddy weapons as your own or to find stashes of supplies and weapons in more realistic ways than the thing just happening to be floating in mid air and rotating (snicker). This means more powerful weapons at your disposal but the downside is that these weapons need ammo if slug throwing weapons or battery packs if Laser or ray type weapons.
And while we are on the subject of Batteries....guess what the bio-scanner runs on. Best thing to do is to search everywhere you can for energy packs to power the Scanner or take your chances by turning the Scanner off (usually in cleared areas) and just hoping you don't accidentally shoot an innocent that pops up from around the corner.
The controls are Keyboard bases and are arrow keys for movement, The Ctrl button will Fire whatever weapon is armed, Spacebar provides "Action" as in opening doors and grabbing things as well as turning things on and off, shift activates the thrusters on your suit that makes you run "fast" when going forward or just hover otherwise , and if you are carrying them pressing the M key will drop one SAF Mine, The Enter Key toggles your Helmet Visor into Different modes (enhanced, Night, infra-red, personally I like the Bio-scanner with Enhanced vision though some levels are Dark and some baddies are invisible).
Good luck Soldier.
