Cyberia 2: Resurrection begins at the exact point where Interplay’s original offering, Cyberia, left off. Last time we saw the game’s hero, Zak, he had combined forces with the destructive Cyberia weapon and had gone unconscious after destroying the FWA orbiting station. When he awakes, he discovers that leaders and scientists from everywhere would kill for a drop of his blood. That is all it will take to mass-produce the ultimate weapon through a type of cloning procedure.
To escape, Zak has to fight guards, hovercraft, bombs and every other manner of high-tech enemy.

To escape, Zak has to fight guards, hovercraft, bombs and every other manner of high-tech enemy. While it helps tremendously to have played the original Cyberia, it isn’t necessary to appreciate the fast action sequences of this sequel, C2R. By paying attention to the development
of the plot and carefully viewing each of the nicely done cut scenes, the gamer will be able to put together the pieces of the storyline and discern just how much trouble Zak is really in! Enter the evil Doctor Corbin and his nano-toxin and you will get the idea.
Like many other action adventure combinations of its kind, C2R relies on a combination of arcade style shooting and chasing with puzzles as their partner. The puzzles themselves are logic based and often require many attempts to get exactly right. The problems range in difficulty from obviously easy to frustratingly difficult. Some of the riddles are forgiving and you are allowed to pass and advance the plot with little or no thought…others will see you dead if not perfectly executed. The blend of these puzzles with the fast-paced action of the partner sequences serve to create a game that moves along quickly and will leave the gamer behind if he or she does not pay attention. If you are seeking high though action scenarios or low thought riddling, this is not the game for you. Most action scenes are pure anarchy with sprays of lead flying everywhere. Most puzzle scenes reflect the other half of the human psyche…quiet strategy.
The design of this game is good, overall. C2R offers great graphics in all aspects of the game: the cut scenes, the action clips and the puzzles. The sound is okay, but the dialogue is poorly written and acted. For the most part, people will skip the lengthy dialogues and concentrate on the gaming anyway, so that is not necessarily a detractor.
