Best dollar I ever spent.
This game looks like the average clone of the game Doom, but it is so much more. It has a deeper storyline and is much faster paced. It has detailed enemies and a good soundtrack. Here's the breakdown.
You're one of the few humans on earth, and you have geared up in your high-tech battle suit to get rid of those pesky aliens and save humanity from becoming robotic slaves to this alien race.

This game looks like the average clone of the game Doom, but it is so much more. It has a deeper storyline and is much faster paced. It has detailed enemies and a good soundtrack. Here's the breakdown.
You're one of the few humans on earth, and you have geared up in your high-tech battle suit to get rid of those pesky aliens and save humanity from becoming robotic slaves to this alien race. You're outnumbered, but definitely not outgunned.
Especially not against the weak enemies in the first stages. Don't worry, the robots get better than the floating turrets in stage one. The grunts stay throughout most of the game, though. The
commanders are even easy in the game. If you get farther, the enemies get cooler. And tougher.
The graphics are pretty borderline for the time. It is a first person shooter, so the graphics are never perfect. They have so many different enemies to kill though. One minute you'll be walking through a corridor and the next thing you know, a detailed robot spings through the door and blast you, and his buddies come along to join the fun.
The thing that really wins me over is the soundtrack. It is the perfect music to kill aliens to. It makes the game seem even faster. And the soundtrack is always changing, so you don't have to listen to the same great song over and over until you despise it. The beats just keep getting better and better, and somehow fit the scenery around you.
Oh, and the arsenal of weapons is great too. You start out with a crummy pistol and get all the way to a true killing device. Among the other good weapons, like the photon chaingun and the alien pistol.
The other problem is it gets you to run around the mazes trying to find where you are supposed to go, and the controls are kind of funky. Those are about the biggest problems in the game. Once you get used to the controls, it is smooth sailing... or shooting in this case.
Overall, if you overlook the controls and graphics, this game should have been a legend of it's time. That is, except it is a computer game in the dark ages of computers. It is a great game, and more people should appreciate it. Or, at least, play it once.
