Made by Virgin Interactive and released in 1992, the Rosetta Stone is the last instalment of the Double Dragon series. In this game, the Lee brothers have just returned home from their special Martial Arts training. The story picks up from the second instalment of the game. The plot of the game goes- Billy and Jimmy meets a mysterious woman named Hiruko asking them to search for the Rosetta Stine and return them to her. Of course, you go off on this big adventure to retrieve the three Rosetta Stones.

In this side-scrolling game, you can either play as Billy and Jimmy in this game that will have you using your martial arts skill on enemies. This is a pretty basic
game that involves facing enemies every level and then fighting off a big boss at the end of each stage. You can kick, punch and jump to beat or avoid an enemy. You will also be facing ninjas at the third level of the game and they can be pretty hard to beat.
The best way to beat an opponent is to kick him or to jump off a wall and kick the opponent before you land. This is the most effective way of hitting the enemies especially the boss which you only need to hit 10 times before they fall.
Adding more fun and variety to the game is the existence of retail shops where you can buy an assortment of stuff from weapons to additional life energy. You can also buy the Jimmy character from the shop if you want to play him instead of Billy.
The game can get quite boring in some parts especially since most of the enemies in the early parts of the game are so easy to beat. The only part I found quite challenging is trying to beat all the ninjas in the third level.
The graphics of the game has improved from the two initial releases in the series. It is less pixilated than Double Dragon 2 and is perfectly acceptable for a game that was released in the early 90s.
There have definitely been far more interesting and fun games released than the Double Dragon 3, but if you want to complete playing the whole Double Dragon Series, then go ahead and download the game. It is also a nice game to play, if you’re just looking to spend a few hours on a mindless game that doesn’t have too many challenges.
