All in all Epic Pinball is one of the best and also one of the few pinball games out there. There wasn't much of a reason to make any more after this one was released in 1993. The game has a lot of flavor as it features some of the best attributes of the regular mechanical pinball games found in the local arcade, bowling alley or movie theater.
One thing that sets this game apart from other DOS games from the 90s is the sound, good use of color and lights.
The game mimics the traditional mechanical pinball in that there is plenty of action happening on the table and also the fact that you can bump the table to give you that edge that more skilled pinball players have when they truly master the trick.
There are also many tables to choose from in the full version. There are 13 tables that give you a great selection as well as some options. The game is great for spending extra time at work or school. It is a great alternative to say solitaire or mine sweeper. The game is kind to new users, but also allows room for mastering the pinball table. I found that the game could become repetitive, but the 13 tables
give you a refreshing change when ever it's needed. In the shareware version of the game you can receive infinite lives if you pause then press N B. However I tried this on the full version and found that it doesn't work.
For the new player you may find that you spend a lot of time watching the ball fall right between the paddles. This is one of the things that I don't like about the game. It is also because of this that I found my score was mostly low occasionally rising very high. This is the room that you have to master the game. With a lot of gameplay or really good hand eye coordination you can get your score up there. If you’re a die hard pinball fan then this game is certainly for you. If you like cool sounds, lights, and activity on the table then you should give this game a try, however if you find that you get bored with things fairly quickly then you shouldn't play this game. On a second note this is the best video game pinball game made, (which explains why there haven't been many others made since) and it is certainly worth your time to check out. I hope you found this useful and happy gaming.
