Incoming came out in 1998 and it is an action arcade game. It can also be classified as a simulation game because it is another of many battle games where you blow up ships and enemy targets. It has single and dual player modes so you can play with your friends or play by yourself. The game is basically about controlling a vehicle of your choice whether it be aircraft or land based, to fight alien invaders and protect the earth.

It has single and dual player modes so you can play with your friends or play by yourself. The game is basically about controlling a vehicle of your choice whether it be aircraft or land based, to fight alien invaders and protect the earth. Each type of vehicle you can choose from has plenty of ammunition and it does not run out no matter how much you fire at the target. They also have secondary weapons and some of those have unlimited ammunition and others have limited ammunition.
It also has campaign and arcade modes and you can play those with your friends or by yourself as well.
There are two different types of campaign modes, campaign action and campaign tactics. The basics of campaign mode follow the actual story line, in which you must complete different tasks to counteract the alien invasion. Your basic goals are to carry cargo and transport it to a location or defend your allies against the aliens. In the campaign action mode, you are simply doing only simulation missions. In the campaign tactics mode, you are doing the same kind of simulation missions but with extra little tactical missions thrown in there. The little tactical missions have their own view called the tactical display in which you control several vehicles and gun emplacements. That gives it a very realistic similarity to real time strategy games.
Both campaigns are comprised of ten missions in each of the six locations, they are referred to as phases in the game, but who really pays attention. They can also be accessed in arcade mode. Arcade mode is where you will fight off the aliens and pick up as many “power-ups” as possible. These items will help you out tremendously because you will find things like weapons upgrades and temporary invulnerability (who could resist flying as fast as you can through alien territory knowing for at least a few seconds they can’t touch you?). The same concepts of arcade mode apply to the multi-player mode, except that your screen will be split so both of you can see what you are doing. Just don’t get confused on who is who.
As for the graphics, they were great for their time, even though they could have been a little better and the sound was pretty decent too.
