This game is amazing.
Sure epic games have come a long way since making this (they're also the developers of games like unreal tournament and gears of war) but its quality, especially considering the era it was developed in, is just impeccable. It has delightfully playful and colorful visuals and extremely satisfying game-play. Nothing better than splattering those evil turtles around the place!
What I love most about this game is the attitude that is given to the main character, Jazz Jackrabbit. He is one cool rabbit, and he's never short of ammunition to blast turtles.
He wears a bandana and he is bright green, now that just screams rage. His whole quest is based on travels when he is on the way to save the damsel in distress, his girlfriend. I'll be damned if he isn't the toughest rabbit on the face of the planet. Not only does he plough through copious amount of evil ravenous killer rampaging turtles but he never stops once for a sleep or a toilet break.
Length wise the game is pretty good, it keeps you entertained for a substantial amount of time, and it's enjoyable enough to come back to multiple times.
The levels are amazing; I still remember playing some of the more memorable ones when I was a little boy. When
I say amazing, I mean that they are expertly designed. There are multiple routes that lead to the inevitable completion of the game, meaning that you can replay the game and more than likely have a contrasting experience.
The difficulty is perfect, challenging but not impossible, and it's not the sort of difficulty that sees you throwing the keyboard across the room in a flurry of drunken rage... it's a pleasant difficulty that will entice a more strategic side of your brain into activation.
Overall, this game is an absolute classic. Don't mess with Jazz Jackrabbit. He'll blast you from here to Timbukto!
