Game Review 1 (written by Nutschware) Added on: 08/10/2006
Jazz Jackrabbit 2 is really an impressive game for it’s time. Jazz Jackrabbit 2 lacked popularity for some reason but I remember playing Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and the rest of the series in high school. I was first seriously introduced to the original jazz jackrabbit for the first time at my ex girlfriend’s house. I saw her dad playing the game every evening I came to pick her up. (He was too preoccupied to interrogate me much and seemed to be oblivious every time she left.
) Then I had to come over for dinner and somehow we ended up playing jazz jackrabbit.
I went out and bought the game a week later and I recently found an empty CD case and still have all the original 3.25 floppies(big 10+ disk set.) But yeah the original ran my 286 and I remember playing this one on my first Pentium. The graphics are at least as good as any other game of the time and the game play involved is entertaining to the last level. My friends all liked the game as well and were impressed every time I pulled it up on my 26” CRT. It used less HD space then most other games of the

time and the expansions seemed to me a new concept of the time and were actually good unlike a lot of what I see today. From what I understand this game also had a lot of history with epic in development stages. This is not only a great game for playing but also has a place in dos game history and should be preserved.
I am an old game/emulator lover and have great respect for this and think it is one of the best early games ever. I remember skipping football games and parties and staying up all night long playing this game and timing how fast I could get through the level while still getting all the secrets and going to all the bonus stages. Recently I have been known to load it up on my core duo laptop and use up both 9 cell batteries with lots of JJRBT time. So yeah don’t do your homework or office work and say jazz jackrabbit let you down or ate your homework/computer. This game had top ratings in it’s time and pretty much rocks. So download it now and I am out of things to say. But yeah great game, lots of game play, defiantly worth the download. So download it now.

The graphics for this game are pretty good and give you a feel for a newer game. The game play can be difficult if you want it to be it is hard enough that you will have trouble beating some of the levels. Overall I would give this game a 9/10 for being a little older game. When the game starts out you will beat the level pretty easy and you might get a little bored until you get some other guns and other special stuff I love the different guns and running it is fun.
Very fun game which I would recommend to everyone I love it gives me back the feeling of the old games I used to play on my DOS computer. I also recommend tyrian for a game it is really fun and offers at least 6 hours of game-play. But back to this game. The other character in it is ok and takes a little getting used to using to people. I hope they come out with a new game in the future like this with an option of using more characters like a sonic game or something like that. A 3D version might be nice also to see all the changes they could make.
The only thing I would change about Jazz Jackrabbit 2 would be to put some mini-games into it like jump as high as you can or as far and you could have a mini-game with incredible amount of people to beat in a row. So there would be a little more to do after the main game is beaten. But I’m not taking anything away from it this is a great game and I love the little running thing on the road where you get as many of those balls as you can before the time runs out. The best character I would say to use is Jazz the other character isn't as useful but can be more useful in some levels but for the most part Jazz the stronger green rabbit is the best. Because he is the best looking, farthest running rabbit in the game.
When I played it for the first time I thought the red rabbit might be ok but he wasn't that great he is fast and has some good moves and guns and abilities but he isn't as cool looking as Jazz. That is about all I can tell you about this better than average 1999 game. Very good game!

The graphics are as well as they might be, for a game that only gets as complicated as a ball bouncing around. They are definitely not state-of-the-art, but I don't want to completely discredit them either. The background scenery is generally, boring, to be frank - but if you are paying too much attention to the background then you have probably already gotten to the point where you are bored. Basically, the graphics are only as complicated as they need to be; they are not over-the-top, but they're not completely arcane.
