When I first found this game, I was introduced to one of the most addicting arcade-style shooters of all time. The premise of this game is very simple: You must first build your rocket ship that was seemingly destroyed during landing on the planet. Once that is done, you will fill it up with fuel and eventually fly to another area. Each time this is done, you must refuel your space ship, before you can take off again.
Of course, it always isn't easy.
When I first found this game, I was introduced to one of the most addicting arcade-style shooters of all time. Once that is done, you will fill it up with fuel and eventually fly to another area. Each time this is done, you must refuel your space ship, before you can take off again.
Of course, it always isn't easy. There are enemies that grow increasingly tougher to dodge, as you get into the later levels. You can avoid them, or shoot them. It's completely up to you. As well as getting points from killing them and filling up your spaceship,
you may also acquire points by the items dropped from the sky. Since this is an arcade-styled game, there is seemingly no-end to the levels (I never found one), so your ultimate goal is to obtain the highest score you can possibly create. But as I said, this is a highly addicting arcade game, so you will probably have a very fun time with this game.
On the technical aspect of this game, graphically, for its time, it was very well done. You can actually distinguish the shapes of the items dropped out of the sky, the little man in the space suit, and the little baddies. The background is plain black, to represent the space atmosphere. And the platforms and ground are simply green, to represent some asteroid or something like this. The sound is what you would typically expect from an arcade shooter, there's a noise, if you die. You can hear your gun fire sound and so on. Overall, I find that Jetpac is one of the best sounding, and looking arcade games of its time.
In conclusion, Jetpac is a very enjoyable game that should keep you entertained for several hours, and it is fun to just pull it out for a few minutes to attempt to beat your high score. The final question you may be asking yourself is, "Is it worth it to download this game?" My response is quite simply put as, a “Yes”.
