Krypton Egg: Ultimate Breakout is just another clone of the game Ultimate Breakout. It has pretty good sound effects and contains around 60 levels. You ultimately have to break through many different kinds of blocks. These are the spell blocks (which have spells in them that can either positively or negatively affect your game play, very much like power up blocks in games of this nature, such as Arkanoid), normal blocks, blocks that take several blows to break, and finally blocks that you can’t even break at all.
The spells are basically your power ups and can either help you or ultimately hurt you. Some examples of good power ups are extra paddles and expansion paddles and extra balls.
You do come across bad guys in this game and they appear every few seconds. There are bad guys that can kill you. All of these enemies can be killed by using the ball to hit them. I will not tell you what ones can kill you, but here’s a big clue: if it glows stay away. Just when you master the level that you are on, you suddenly get surrounded by bad guys. Have no fear because if you really have mastered the level then you can get yourself
through it and move on through the game. There are also boss matches every few levels, unlike Breakout. This use of enemies is a cool addition to a very classic pong-style concept.
The graphics are pretty good along with the sound effects and the wide variety of colors. This game kind of reminds me of a glorified version of an old Atari game called Pong. Although using a keyboard can be a little more difficult at times, you can still have a lot of fun playing this game. You can get frustrated playing when you have tried and failed to beat the bosses or if you just cannot seem to get past certain levels, but just remember that it is just a game and it is made for fun. It’s worth downloading!
