The Lion King is one of the best movies to game adaptations I have seen/played. Basically, the game follows the growing up of Simba and all the adventures along the way with Naala, Timon, Pumba, Rafiki, Scar and the Hyenas featuring in the game also. The plot of the game is very closely tied to the movie with each new adventure of the game obviously set in the movie somewhere or taken as an extended feature of the game.
So many elements of the much-loved Disney cartoon are elements in the game version.

So many elements of the much-loved Disney cartoon are elements in the game version. There is an Ostrich level which involves ducking and jumping at the appropriate times to miss obstacles like branches and animals (“I just can’t wait to be king” scene). Also
an offshoot from the previously mentioned song is the ability to roar at animals as a way to make use of them via them becoming a ‘stepladder’ to a higher section you need to get to. There are also some bonus levels scattered throughout such as a bug hunt with Timon and Pumba (adapted from the scene when Simba learns to eat bugs), trying to survive the stampede (when Mufasa is killed-very had level!). My favourite level of all would be the scene where the Simba cub is thrown around monkeys and you must press the spacebar when they are to release him and throw him to the next. Once this is successfully completed you then land on the Ostrich and that adventure begins.
The graphics are somewhat lacking in finesse by today’s standards however I felt for their day they were right up there. It is a highly addictive game due to the familiarity that already exists with the characters and scenes portrayed in the levels.
The Lion King game provided hours of amusement when I was younger and still does now. I always play with the sound turned up as the music that accompanies this game is so much fun. There are African rhythms and songs from The Lion King movie. This game is relatively easy to play as it uses standard and simple gaming features. As it was created as a children’s game there are no complex commands or features that are difficult to understand. The basic gaming commands of jump, run, running direction, duck, roar (shoot) are required for the game.
Playing The Lion King game will bring back many memories and provide hours of entertainment to anyone young or old.
