Lode runner is a fast paced game that is so easy to learn!! Learning the game play is very simple. First to begin you are a man The Lode runner and you move your character left right up or down using the arrow keys on the keyboard. Other controls are simple as well there are two keys set as default "Z" and the "Y" keys: however game play can change when the player customizes the keys instead of using the default keys. And you are ready to play.

Basically the game is set up in several levels each progressively getting harder faster and more challenging. It is easy to develop a strategy as the player watches and learns how the enemies whom look

like little tiki men chase you around each level.
This game is almost like tag, they touch you, you are out or dead and lose a life, which then the player must start over again from the beginning point but not losing any of the tokens or gold treasure chests they must collect in every level.
As the lode runner runs through each level being chased he may come to a point and I am sure you will very often when you are trapped or corned by these tiki men. In order to save yourself and continue you use they two keys you have designated to shoot holes in the floor. One on either side of you this allows the closing in tiki man to either fall into a hole or a trap that you can run over his head and sneak by or you can jump down to the lower level if you are able to. Now don’t be fooled these holes don’t last forever!! After a certain time period the hole closes itself up and this could be trouble!! Number one you can drop through the floor, number two the tiki man gets swallowed up and disappears in the floor only to be dropped off in another area far from you, or number three if you are in the hole and can’t go any lower then I am sorry you are dead and must start the level again.
Played this game for years with the entire family. Several different challenging levels and speeds depending on skill. Give this game an A+ in my book been looking for it for years to buy and play again once more. Definitely must check this game out!! Good luck and have fun!!

Game Review 2 (written by Millerguts) Added on: 02/14/2007
A great, challenging and addictive game that requires all your wits and quick thinking to complete each level. The object of this game is to pick up all the packages on the screen (in the form of a small box), and climb the ladder to freedom, whilst avoiding the bad dudes, who are out to get you!!
Sounds simple enough?
Then all of a sudden, those bad dudes start picking up those precious packages that you need. Fortunately, they'll drop them off randomly. You can also force them to drop these packages by digging a hole for them to fall into. Beware, they will climb back out after a short time. A nice trick is to dig a hole well in advance, so that once they've fallen in, the hole will fill itself up again, killing the bad dude. But the bad dude will resurrect right away, falling from the top of the screen to come after you again. At least that'll buy you some time to get away, or finish the level.
As you complete each level, the difficulty increases slightly. There are 99 levels all up, and finishing the game will prove extremely challenging!
Good Luck!
