Game Review (written by Shannon) Added on: 07/31/2008
Lucky Luke is an animated video game that is based on a wildly popular Belgian comic book series starring the lonesome and somewhat bungling cowboy named Luke. Lucky Luke was both produced and published by Infogrames Multimedia, and was released for play on the personal computer in the late nineties, shortly after its debut on Nintendo’s Game Boy. Lucky Luke features arcade style action with a touch of puzzle solving worked into the colorful levels. It plays out in the third person perspective and features a side scrolling action.
Since Lucky Luke is a fully licensed title, it contains all of the great, fun characters that made the comic book series a success.
In the video game, Lucky Luke is charged with a monumental task. He receives a telegram stating that all of the most vile villains and their henchmen have escaped from jail. Overnight, Jesse James, Billy the Kid, Pat Poker and the Dalton brothers have gone from safely behind bars to at large. Luke vows to catch up to each of these heinous criminals and put them back in the hooch where they belong.
Lucky Luke offers the player twelve total levels to play. Most of the levels feature a boss at the end of the levels, sometimes one of the villains

that Lucky Luke is trying to apprehend. He will have to face the Dalton brothers numerous times at the end of levels, for example. Lucky Luke has a wealth of actions, including ducking and running, jumping and climbing, and shooting his trusty six shooter. He will also be able to pick up quite a variety of items, ranging from a sheriff’s star to dynamite. All of the items Luke encounters can help him in some way or another, often as part of the puzzle-solving element of the game. A red cloth will be shown to a bull, a dog needs a bone, and dynamite can be used to blow up portions of the walls in order to reveal hidden passages. There will be a great variety of levels and sceneries that the gamer will see, including Indian villages, saloons and towns, ranches, and even the Cheyenne Mountains. All levels come complete with their own little baddies that reflect the nature of the background.
Lucky Luke is a very cute game that features some action, as well as some puzzle elements. It seems to offer a little something for everyone and is appropriate for most gamers. It is funny, fun, and winner pick for download.

I played this game quite some time ago, but still remember the sequences. The Dalton brothers split make this game lenghty and Joe's stage (he is the final boss) is quite difficult. I really liked it.
