Game Review 1 (written by Glitterstar1504) Added on: 01/06/2007
First of all, for those of you who aren't familiar with the story line: A good scientist named Dr. Wright creates a good robot. Dr. Wily, who is considered and an evil scientist, makes bad robots to defeat those of Dr. Wright. When Mega Man defeats one, he gains their special abilities to use against the other his enemies... This game is one of my first memories of Nintendo Game Boy and of course, NES.
You instantly fall in love with the little blue hero.
.. and his pink friend (the original female video game hottie). You actually have lots of freedom in this linear game (more so than other games allow you) and won’t be complaining about the speed of the game. It runs at a good pace and has an interesting story line. I would even consider this game to be as good as or better than any Mario game. The bosses are also well developed and fun to do battle with. You also gain specific abilities after beating each one.
The rock man sticks out as a boss I remember as being difficult but fun, none the less. And unlike other games, you won't find yourself having to quit the game out of frustration

from being caught in some lame situation for days. All in all the game is not too difficulty. Don’t get me wrong, it's not incredibly easy, but it is also not a "rip your hair our trying to beat it" kind of game. The difficulty is just right. The graphics are basic but that goes for most NES games of the day, although it is one of the better games of its time.
The animations were actually pretty good and are given less credit than they deserve. The backgrounds could have been more detailed but are excused because of the limitations of the time period also. The music, however, makes up for all of the minor disappointments within the graphics. No matter how simple it may be, who isn't familiar with the music of Mega Man? It is a classic and undoubtfully inspired many of the makers of video game music today. And who doesn't consider music to be one of the most important qualities to a good game? Overall, this is a great game and I would recommend it to anyone, especially if you love older game. Face it, there is no way to call yourself a master of video games until you play Mega Man.

Game Review 2 (written by Cloudywolfxiv) Added on: 10/02/2006
A classic game, Megaman, AKA, The Blue Bomber. Created by Keiji Inafune, later turned video game in 1989 on the NES system. Ever since the release of the original game, Megaman has been the flagship of the Capcom video game corporation, starring in over 50 games spanning across many systems.
This game is one of the most mediocre games (of the few) of Megaman, yet for a fan, still very playable. The game may be short, lacking in graphics, but for it's time, the game was still good. The difficulty level is pretty high in some parts, as it can seem very simple. It's basically a side-scrolling shooter.
Now for some Megaman background.
Megaman was originally a lab robot, named Rock, until Dr. Wily, the rival of Rock's creator, Dr. Light, stole all of his robots and reprogrammed them for evil uses. Rock insisted, with his natural sense of justice, that he be modified into a fighting robot, to counter Wily, and get his friends back! Rock was made into Megaman, with a Buster Cannon on his arm as a weapon. Megaman also has the ability to acquire other robots abilities (EX. Defeating ElecMan would give you a Thunder Shot, MetalMan giving you the Metal Blade) after beating the Robot Master, the robot boss waiting at the end of a stage. Most Megaman games have 8 Robot Masters, with an exception of this one, as (I'm guessing) the hardware power that was used at the time of development. Megaman has, to this current day, over 6 different series, with numerous games in each of them, that include Megaman Classic, what this game takes place in, the 20XX era. Megaman X, a future Megaman that takes place in 21XX, the Megaman Zero series, based on Megaman X's friend, Zero, that takes place in the year 22XX. Megaman Legends, seemingly out of place in the Megaman universe, not having any other connections to previous series', which takes place in the year 58XX (I have no idea where they came up with this number either). The Megaman Battle Network Series, which doesn't exactly have a specific date, but is rumored to take place after the Classic Series, and before the X series. The new, Megaman ZX series takes place after the Zero series. The also new series, which has yet to be released, is Megaman Star Force, seemingly a sequel for the Battle Network series, hundreds of years past.
All in all, I highly suggest Megaman to anyone that loves gaming. Megaman is one of the greatest and longest-running games in the history of gaming.
