A Nightmare on Elm Street is a very fun game, and it is based on the movie starring the frightening FREDDY KRUEGER himself! The point of the game is that you have to move from house to house, trying to defeat him and pick up all his bones that he drops! You have a sleep metre and when it goes down to nothing you go to sleep and you can change character identities and powers just like in Part 3! There is a character that throws javelins and more!
In this game, Freddy is without his glove but the knives are still coming out of his fingers! You have to find houses and try to go inside to collect his bones, and I forgot to mention that the only way to get awake is to find a radio that will play rock tune and wake you up! The enemies in this game include skeletons, snakes, ghosts, Frankenstein, bats, dogs and of course Freddy, the nightmare himself.
Believe it or not but there is a Multi-player mode for this too, so you can play with three of your friends! And if you’re a Commodore 64 fan or Amiga enthusiast, you can enjoy this great game yourselves. The graphics aren’t the best in the world but they are good for their time.
The kinks aren’t very noticable if you just want to play but they are fun to spot. Here are some tips and other things to watch for: Sometimes in the game, rocks fall out of the sky randomly so watch where you go and look at the top of your computer screen oten. I am not sure what the point of them are, but they will certainly mess you up, so beware. You play as a guy in some blue shorts and blue singlet, but he can pack a punch and he can also jump very high. It is good to use his jumping skills in many tight places. I must warn you that some bones blend into the scenery so you must look very carefully in all the scenery to find them. All the bones look like average dog bones so don’t decide “oh, I’m going to look for Freddy’s skull” because you will never ever find it. Don’t forget this, some hous'es doors are open but you can’t go in and some doors are shut but you can go in. It is up to you to figure out which ones are which and find all of Freddy's bones so you can put the evil to rest.

In this exciting action game based on the hit movie, you must find evil Freddy's house before he finds you, and enter it to rescue your friends. Freddy strangely disappears after you enter the house, but you must contend with the various nightmarish creatures. A fast, fun, but very short game if you're a good action gamer. |
