Orbital Sniper

PC
Genre:  Arcade    |     Year: 2002    |     Publisher: Freeware     |     Developer: Freeware
Game Review (written by Triplemerc) Added on: 07/12/2007
Orbital Sniper is probably the simplest freeware game I have ever played, and yet one of the best. The whole object of the game is to protect a VIP from assassins, from about twenty-thousand feet in the air.
Now, this concept may sound simple. However, that does not mean it is easy, not in the slightest. Many minutes will be spent, looking for that little dot, that little threat on the screen that could almost instantly end your game.
Now, the game's good points are plentiful.

Now, this concept may sound simple. However, that does not mean it is easy, not in the slightest. Many minutes will be spent, looking for that little dot, that little threat on the screen that could almost instantly end your game.
Now, the game's good points are plentiful. The simplistic graphics ensure that almost anyone can play it, and smoothly too. The gameplay is completely stunning for something so simple, and yet, this is also one of its downfalls.
The game has you

from a top down position, sort of like looking at a picture with moving dots on it. You can zoom in and out, to try to shoot the evil red dots that are trying to end your game, yet, the map is so large, that you have to be constantly aware of the whole map, yet you're going to miss unless you're zoomed in. So, it takes a bit of practice to get that ratio of accuracy to map exposure, and even then it fluctuates with every level.
This game is really worth downloading and playing. It's not, by any means, a must download, but if you have a download credit to spare, go right ahead, you’ll like it.
