Game Review (written by Dereklop) Added on: 10/31/2006
The game I am reviewing is prehistoric 2. I though that this game was excellent. With many enhancements that make the game play much better than that of prehistoric. A solid game for its genre. There are not that many games out there in the caveman type genre so it is also a little bit innovative. I like being able to club animals and all sorts of other things to get all sorts of bonuses from them. I also liked that in this version of the game you don’t have to feed your clan and that got kind of annoying.
I like not having a minimum food requirement.
The bosses are semi-difficult although I found the final boss to be rather difficult. This is something that could be improved upon in the third installment. I like the fact that there are passwords after every few levels because it makes the game easier to play if you don’t have much time to sit down and chug away.
You can play it in installments and if you have to go to work or school you can always come back later for more heart pumping excitement. I do like that in the pc version there is parallel scrolling, a very cool feature. I like being able to control a caveman because it allows me to empathize with

him and see what it was like to be a caveman. They had very difficult lives and struggled to even survive. They eventually though became the modern human. With their strong will and brains they were able to make this planet the great place it is today.
I feel that this game shows those trials and tribulations that our cavemen and cave women friends of old had to endure. I mean they had to kill all sorts of animals for food and beat rock with clubs to find bonuses to stay alive or give them special powers to defeat bosses. Ohhh man, and if they got one of those passwords then they were pretty much thought of as legends. Only the strongest cave men could get passwords. And only the strongest beat the final boss. This did not happen often but when it did a giant celebration would erupt throughout the cavemen villages.
All in all this game is very good and I would recommend it to anyone who would like to play a game about a caveman beating things with a big stick. It is a good game and I think everyone should play it.

The best game in my childhood. It had a great first look, great sounds, big environments, and cool hidden secrets.

Prehistoric 2 is genuinely entertaining with an offbeat sense of humor and more than adequate graphics. The single-mindedness of the pursuit - got to have something to eat - is less annoying than it sounds, and the problems are inventive and susceptible to thought rather than timing and fast clicks. The graphics are better than Prehistoric, and after a couple of hours of play I felt in a reasonably good humor rather than twisted and cramped in my head.
