Psycho Pinball

PC
Genre:  Arcade    |     Year: 1995    |     Publisher: Philips Media     |     Developer: Codemasters
Game Review (written by Elizwv19) Added on: 04/01/2007
Psycho Pinball is one of the better pinball games you will find out there. Developed in the mid 90's by Codemasters this game takes pinball to a whole new level.
Not only do you get to play basic pinball, but there are four themes tables you can play. They are Wild West, Trick or Treat (Halloween theme), Psycho (a crazy theme park) and The Abyss (underwater theme). Each of these tables has it's own special features. In Psycho, you can jump from table to table by finding secret passage ways, and in The Abyss, there are multiple levels you can play.

One of the other things that makes Psycho Pinball great is that there are mini-games within each level. These games range from standard BlackJack

to a fishing game. In each of these games, the player has the opportunity to increase their point totals, and have a little fun while they're at it.
Because this game is based on the Sega Genesis, it does lack some of the special features of the original, such as certain mini-games. Three of the mini-games in the original are replaced by less elaborate games in the PC version. However, these games are still a blast, and the game is still amazing with them. In some of them, you get to play as Psycho, an armadillo on a mission. The graphics of this game are wonderful, considering it's age. The themes are fun (if a little bit hokey) and because of the adjustable features, it can easily be altered to fit any skill level. The sound effects and music also add a great deal to the experience of playing this game.
In Psycho Pinball, you can play with up to four players, switching off as you go. This can be a fun addition, but I've always noticed that pinball games in general are often more fun as individual games.
Psycho Pinball has been compared to Amiga's Pinball Dreams and Pinball Fantasies, but it definitely has the edge when it comes to graphics and sound. And even if it does have similarities, it's still a ton of fun!
So definitely download this game. It is free, it is fun and it is worth the time. Play against your friends or just play against yourself like I do.

Awesome. The game has great sound and graphics, and a very configurable system for making it harder or easier in more ways. Normally I'm not into pinball games, but this game got me playing a lot anyway. This is really worth a download. Great game!

One of the funnest games around, you shouldn't miss it! Graphics are great and are very reminiscent of castle of doctor brain. Sound effects are incredible, a lot of zing zanging and bing banging. All the classic pinball sounds you need.
