Push-Push Penguin - Pengo is a re-creation of the classic Arcade game Pengo.
I recall spending many a quarter in the pizza place down the street playing it. Push-Push is a good rendition of the original stand up console game.
The graphics are a little weak - you can definitely see the individual pixels, but I guess that is to be expected from the generation of games that it came from in the early to mid 80's. Now the game play: you control a little penguin in a maze of Ice Blocks, being menaced by a variety of "meanies", including the dreaded "Octopus".

It is your job to run around the screen gathering bonus items as they appear, these will give you points. To complete
a level, you must crush all the meanies on the screen by pushing ice blocks against them. Once all the meanies have been crushed, you have a few more seconds to gather additional items, and then the level is complete. Each successive level adds additional challenges, including new types of meanies, and a variety of special bonuses to complete. There are a variety of blocks that you will encounter over successive levels. These include the afore mentioned Ice Blocks (which break if you push them and they are already pushed up against another item), Rocks (which cannot be moved), and other unmovable objects.
Each successive level will describe the new objectives of the next level with a little cut scene. The special bonuses include a variety of challenges, including: letters to grab that will spell the word bonus, or collecting a variety of diamonds, both of which if completed will give you lots of bonus points at the end of the level. Also, you may be asked to push certain blocks that have starts on them together, to release the sprites that are caught within them. Again, this is worth bonus points.
The game is controlled via keyboard (Arrow buttons and Enter), and is great to play when you only have a few minutes. An overall warning however, it can become very addictive if you get hooked on arcade style games. A high score registry also exists, so you can continue to challenge yourself, friends and family members over and over. There is also a 2 player option for a bit of party fun. Overall I very much enjoy it. It brings back many old memories.
