Game Review 1 (written by Lepp) Added on: 11/08/2006
Hey guys, thank you very much for this awesome game. I have played this game heaps and heaps when I was a younger kid. Up at the local arcade, I used to spend so much money challenging random people. It was all fun hey… raiden 1 was awesome but then two came out and everyone was like : whoa!!!!!.
Games like this will never die I think personally because you can sit and play this game for hours on end without getting bored, doesn’t matter whether you’re at the arcade or on your own computer.

The choice of weapons is a good variety and they look

cool by the way. The enemy ships are crazy and look like little UFOs. One thing that would make the game better is a variety of different ships to choose or something like that.
I hope the makers of this game are going to make a third sequel or even a fourth and fifth. That would be sweet, and I’m sure they would sell easily. Playing this game makes me feel like I’m in the actual game. Yeah I get into it a lot, screaming and throwing tantrums but it’s all good. I like to vs my brothers too. If a sequel was to come out it should be a game that can be played on all types of pc's.
Back to raiden 2, the game itself compared to other space shooting games in the same genre I would give this a 10 out of 10 buddy. That’s right best space shooter game ever. If you played major striker by apogee, you will know what I’m talking about. And well done to the makers!!

Game Review 2 (written by T0m0rr0w27) Added on: 10/24/2006
Raiden II is the excellent predecessor shooter up game that is out there. It has laid the playing field for newer games such as Star Fox and etc. This game is known as the original classic, with game playing that is substandard to any other.
This game has set the boundary for all air/shooting games. Although many military shooting games that involve this type of fighting have tried to compete with such a game, none could surpass it. The game Raiden all in all has been critically acclaimed one of the best games in the century because of its excellence and continuing to feed on over to the newer generation of gaming. Although the graphics are sub ziggy and the audio feed isn't as great as the high tech three dimensional ones we hear today, this game still reins on top of other games in the leading airplane games. It's not quite a simulation, but in the arcades, you surely get the most bangs for your quarter (or ten when it comes to passing the game).
The wide array of weaponry, the military situations and the complete lack of a story line makes this game all the more fun. It's exciting to see this game still in production in many arcades and still widely renowned. The lineage of Raiden has been broken many years a past but they are still dominant in the elder, more expert gamers. It is starting to feed on to the younger and younger generation.
Even though the three dimensional graphics interface has ruled over the gaming industry at utmost almost a hundred percent, Raiden is one of those games that still remains alive to this day. It stays in the hall of classics that belong with Pac-man and other Atari games that have survived to still continue to be played today. I still love this game, and it's still "that" good. You can never grow tired of the infinite lives or the massive shooting and game play of a cheapo airplane game, but Raiden is different.
Raiden is possibly one of the earlier greatest games (not in comparison to the high definition three dimensional characters seen today with action wi-fi and responsive handling and what not). Raiden is the foundation for all great games that involve shooting and airplanes and warfare. Take it from a gamer; it's one of the best!
