Pretty awesome game. For a 1989 classic it surely does not disappoint. I found this game pretty difficult as a kid, and not much has changed. While no contra, the pace of this game is pretty fast, and pretty hard. That being said however, the gameplay was still fun and not to the point of pulling out my hair, screaming at the cat, or rocking in the corner, as so many action adventure style games from this era cause. The graphics are ok, with cut scenes having a fair bit of detail.
The controls and amount of glitches in the game kind of turned me off though. Could just be my computer but I remember the original being pretty similar. Lots of graphical glitches some severely hampering your ability to complete levels at times, but again this could just be my install and I encourage you to give this game a try your self. Weapons are pretty cool, and standard to what you would expect for Rambo. The sound was my favorite though. Sound in these old games often made or broke the game and this does not disappoint fully drawing you into the action. If you come into this game expecting an amazing game I assure you, you will be disappointed. But if you
take it for what it is, a late 80's action shooter with the bad ass character of them all, I’m sure you'll have some fun.
Graphics: 6/10 Pretty ok for its age but nothing blew me away, as some other titles from its era did, but still pretty good
Gameplay: 5/10 I personally enjoyed it but I can’t see the repetition getting old to many people, Very typical of late 80's side scrolling shooters.
Sound: 8/10 loved the sounds, ah the cheese of old pc games.
Controls 4/10 not the best controls for a side scroller, and the glitching of the game just makes it immensely worse.
Overall 6/10 anyone who loved Rambo should defiantly give this game a try. While at times buggy I really encourage Rambo fans and side scroller fanatics alike to give this game a try.
