Top down assault game much along the likes of Tanks (if you ever played that?). The game was a hit on the PlayStation and 3D0. I can honestly recall reading a review in some PlayStation magazine that was saying how good the game was.
All in all the game wasn't bad, it was something newish and boasted some coolish graphics which looked 3D but were in fact only 2D, it was along the lines of a WarCraft or Command and Conquer game, but with more action than strategy it was basically a shoot like hell and see if you can win.
It had four play modes (or vehicles to choose from) which all panned out similar but each with their own advantages and disadvantages such as the helicopter was better for speed and taking out things from a distance, where as the slower Tank was more capable of destruction than speed.
The game was a simple capture the flag, with at least 100 different scenario's all shot from its top-down aerial view, with a useless radar map stuck in your control panel at the bottom of your screen, providing little if any details to your surrounding environment.
You start out each scenario with three Tanks, three helicopters, three jeeps, and three armoured support vehicles, which you then can deploy at your own choice controlling
only one at a time, which is rather annoying.
Your aim is to find the sole flag of the enemy and capture it (which can only be done using one of your jeeps). The best strategy is to match your enemy targets and keep your vehicles alive long enough to inflict more damage than them and to secure a safe route for your jeep to come dashing it to capture the flag, Your Tanks are probably your best option as Helicopters will crash after a few hits.
The controls are poor which can’t be re-mapped and most of the special features such as your long range attacks are useless since you can’t zoom out to find a long range target since it is a fixed zoom level, so you simple end up throwing bombs at nothing, it’s a simple hope to hit situation throughout most of the game.
The graphics are poor but playable and the sound is of the same.
