Following the plot of the movie, the game is set in Detroit where a cop who almost
dies is saved by turning him into a cyborg. After he is turned into a human/robot, he returns back to fight crime as a police officer, hence the name RoboCop.
In the game you play the role of Alex Murphy who becomes RoboCop. You will try to take revenge on the people who tried to kill you and will also work on restoring the peace and order in the crime ridden city. Enemies will try to fight with you using all sorts of weapons so you must have fast reflexes in order to fight off your opponents. You can run, jump and crouch while going through the different levels in the game. The controls are pretty smooth and although there is a slight delay when you are throwing punches, you easily get used to it so it doesn’t affect how well you play the game.
At the start of the game, you will only have your fists to fight off enemies but even before the end of the first level, Robocop will be able to use his gun. Just fire off at your enemies and make sure you work fast. You initial gun will not run out of bullets so just fire away. There will be plenty of power-ups as you go along the game and these power-ups will help upgrade you gun. Unfortunately the different guns that are available upon upgrade have limited bullets.
There will be a life indicator telling you how much life energy you have left. When you already have low energy, you can “eat” and extend your life by looking for baby food containers.
Overall, RoboCop is a fantastic movie-to-video game title that will provide you with many, many hours of fun. Just download it and enjoy.
