Skunny 32-Bit

PC
Genre:  Arcade    |     Year: 1997    |     Publisher: WizardWorks     |     Developer: Magic Touch
Game Review (written by Eric) Added on: 01/12/2008
The Skunny 32-bit is the last installment of Skunny games from Magic Touch. When it was released, it was marketed as a full game unlike its predecessors which were all shareware. Skunny 32-bit was actually pretty well-received as it features a varied game play, great graphics and is just over-all a fair game.
It sure was not as good as Zool or the other classic adventure games but Skunny isn’t a disappointment either. In fact it’s a fair game with enough challenges capable of providing a player with a really good time.

The hero of this game is an adorable squirrel. Taking control of the squirrel, you lead it through the different locations in the game which are all fun and well-rendered. The locations are pretty varied and interesting. The game involves going on adventures in castles, pyramids, the desert, a pirate ship, an oriental temple and others. It has over 100 stages that you need to conquer so it provides plenty of challenges and many, many hours of gaming fun. As a basic platform game, there is no deep back story to this game. The goal is to avoid the other enemies and advance in level. There are bonuses and special treasures that you can collect as you go through the different stages. There are also some secret passages that lead to more treasures and other surprises.
The game also features a level editor that can let you edit and customize levels. But with over 100 challenging and fun levels, I don’t really see the need for an editor anymore because it’s always fun to play.
The graphics was smooth, colorful and interesting. All the characters are well-made. The controls are easy to learn and manage. The game is also fast-paced and offers a lot of excitement. Basically, there is nothing about this game that will leave gamers sorely disappointed. It’s a game that is easy to learn and easy to get into so I suggest you try it now because you might be surprised at how good this platform game from the 90s is.
This game is recommended for gamers of different ages. This can be especially fun for young gamers. Because it is a game that the whole family can play, it’s a game that you can download for everyone’s enjoyment. Actually, maybe that’s a bad idea because it means, you’ll have to share your PC.
