Game Review (written by Oraphim) Added on: 09/25/2007
This game was a tank simulator based in the tradition of games like Battle zone. The story was relatively simple; in the far future a dictator named Gir Draxxon has taken over most of the galaxy, and it's up to you to stop him. You pilot a powerful prototype hover tank called the Raven and you fight against Draxxon's Arcturian armies of enemy tanks and robots in seven levels that represented seven solar systems.
The game play was pretty enjoyable, as your tank was equipped with various devices, and there were also different poseurs for your weapons that you could collect.
Your Raven tank came equipped with a cloaking device that you could use a certain amount of times each level, along with a jump jet that allowed you to shoot at flying enemies or shoot the cockpits of giant robo-mechs. You could also get more powerful shots or rapid fire. There were also secrets, like warps that could take you ahead to other levels.
With such a simple premise, it may seem like the game was very repetitive, but it wasn't at all. Every solar system had different enemies to fight and new strategies had to be used. In addition, every level had a different boss. But with only seven levels and such a simple game engine, the game was ended up being somewhat short as a result.
The

game's graphics were great. The enemies and items in the playing field were somewhat simple shaded polygons and the backgrounds were static images, but this allowed for very fluid animation even on low-end systems. There were also well-rendered cut scenes in between each level where you'd watch Gir Draxxon receive reports from his aides about how you had single headedly crushed more of his armies. And eventually, of course, Draxxon gets angry enough to go after you himself in the last level. Strangely though your character doesn't have any dialogue or receive any development throughout the game. The sound and music was very well composed.
This is the greatest game I’ve ever played! It’s very enjoyable and addictive! I highly recommend downloading it! You will be happy playing it!
