Super C is a side-scroller game where you have to beat off swarms of enemies before they kill you. It is the sequel to Konami’s highly successful game Contra. The game was released in 1988 as Super Contra but was renamed Super C for the North American Market. This is a superb sequel that brings the excitement of the original game and adds even more amazing features to keep fans of the original interested and to get none-fans to play the game. The game was also ported for the Nintendo Super System and other platforms.
You can play the role of Bill Rizer or Lance Bean, special forces who have successfully defeated aliens in the original Contra game. In Super C, you find yourself in an area in South America where aliens have taken over a military base. Initially you were called in to the base by General Hall because the men from the GX Army have staged a mutiny. When you get to the base that’s when you discover that the bodies of the military men seem to have been taken over by aliens.
You will start the game with a basic weapon and the ability to run, jump and shoot at your enemies. As you go along the game, you will be picking up items like better
guns and bombs. There are different types of weapons and you can use the weapon which works best for your fighting strategy. Once you have a better weapon, you will lose it and revert back to the basic gun when you die.
At the very last level, you will have to face the queen of the aliens and beat her to consider the game finished. In facing the boss, the trick is in finding the perfect position from which to fire the guns from.
The game has average difficulty and if you are an experienced gamer, you can easily finish the game in an hour or so. Novice players may take longer to finish the game but it doesn’t mean that it will get them frustrated that they will end up abandoning the game.
The game is an awesome game that is very fun to play. You will need to have quick wit and quick reflexes to really do well in the game. The graphics are colorful and clean and good enough for a game that was released more than a decade ago.
