Superfrog is a 2D platform game that was originally released back in the early 90's for the commodore Amiga 500, I should know because I own an Amiga and still have the game to this day. The PC version varies little compared to the Amiga version, it's basically identical, the PC version was made by team 17 who are the same guys that made the worms games.
Platform games in the late 80's early 90's were being made like it was going out of fashion, regardless of whether the game was good or bad, all because they wanted to emulate the success of such classics as donkey kong and mario bros.

Platform games in the late 80's early 90's were being made like it was going out of fashion, regardless of whether the game was good or bad, all because they wanted to emulate the success of such classics as donkey kong and mario bros. Some did see success while others just flopped, this game was one of
the games that despite the competition succeeded, maybe it was because worms was a popular game and that team 17 was starting to get recognised as a serious game developer or the fact that the idea was nothing to sneeze about yet made purely on the basis that, well, the character seemed cute enough and would reel in the younger generation…
The game centers around a prince that was turned into a frog by a witch, which just so happens takes his girlfriend hostage, well, what an original plot that is… How he turns into a superfrog i can't really remember, but at least now he has the upper hand to take on the witch and get his girlfriend back.
The graphics are clean and very colorful, think the platformer 'rayman' (PC) and 'monkey magic' (playstation) and that's what superfrog is in terms of colorfulness/ cuteness. The animation is flawless, I couldn't see anything wrong with the game on both formats (amiga/ PC), the animation reminds me of 'shadows of the beast' and 'altered beast' in terms of how the foreground and backgrounds move perfectly. The controls are perfect, easy, responsive, smooth and superior to that of most platformers around the same time. The sound and audio takes full advantage of the power of the sound cards back then, and are pretty catchy as well, they really get you into the groove and gets you pumped. A classic game that can be played by all.
