A game that has taken the loquacious top facing 2d gaming platforms to a new level. Game play is fun and fast paced with a wide variety of weapons and other objects. The levels provide a challenge without giving the horrible hopeless feeling of an unsolvable level. We all know the types the ones you get to and have no idea what to do. So you turn the game off and go to bed after hours of play but can’t sleep because you keep walking through the level in your mind because you’ve played it so much that you have memorized it.

Another interesting aspect of this game is the setting. Similar to fallout or any other post apocalyptic world you have your mix between destroyed buildings and
run down towns and then there’s the high-tech government buildings that somehow survived the war. Obviously our character had planned very far ahead and had a contingency plan for what he was going to do. Because before the game starts you’re fighting off hordes of survivalists and about to meet your maker when a helicopter with soldiers comes in and rescues you. So as you sit in a giant government building you listen to a fat man in a suit talk about the favour or mission that you owe him for saving him. So you make your way to a giant dome off in the distance.
There was also a comics handed out when the game had just come out. It was actually very entertaining and it would have been even better if the comics had been pursued further. A favourite of mine was when our main character had to blow a hole in a wall to escape. A psycho sat next to him with a bomb strapped to his chest so he took the man and stuffed him up against the wall and boom blew a nice mouse hole in the wall so that he could escape.
Weaponry is fun but could have been a little more varied, it seemed that everything was way too high-tech and there was no reminisce of the weapons that the people living in the houses and towns that got blown up still had. But overall it was a good game
