This is one of the most challenging games I ever remember playing. It requires pinpoint accuracy in all of the possible tasks in the game. To make a lot of the jumps, you need to hit precisely the edge of the jump, and jump with precisely the correct height, otherwise you fall below and lose your beloved turtle. There are, however, so many different things to do in the game. One cool aspect is that you get to control each of the four turtles, which each have different weapons.
You soon learn that the two with the weapons that reach the furthest (Leonardo and Donatello) are the best to use in most situations, and usually Raphael and Michaelangelo are left for last. I never was able to finish the game without using any cheats, but that doesn't mean this wasn't one of my most enjoyable pastimes. It's the one game that sticks in my memory from when I was a kid and received it on my 286. Wow what a great computer that was. The gameplay leaves a lot to be improved upon, since this game is really too hard even for any experienced gamer to complete. However, if you can keep your temper after just missing the same
jump for the umpteenth time, then this game may be for you. Considering how old it is, I think the creators have done an awesome job with it. You also have the ability to control different things. You get to ride around in the turtle van, use the blimp at one stage, and the final level (where you finally get to fight shredder) is in the technodrome. You get to see all the heroes of the TV show, fighting bebop in the first level, and fighting rocksteady not much later on. You find April O Neil and Splinter is not left missing either. For those who wish to reminisce about the good old days of the Turtles, this game is a must, although it's extremely hard, the rewards are definitely worth it. If it wasn't so easy to die, then this game would be awesome. Of course the graphics aren't really top-notch but they definitely were back then, it's amazing just how far the world of computers has gone in these past 15-20 years. Going from games like this to the current bread of 3-D monsters has resulted in a loss of gameplay and game length, which the teenage mutant ninja turtles delivers.
