Tempest 2000

PC
Genre:  Arcade    |     Year: 1996    |     Publisher: Interplay     |     Developer: Atari
Game Review (written by Eric) Added on: 03/25/2008
Tempest 2000 is a game that was originally created for the Atari Jaguar in 1994. It was later ported for the PC, Mac, Sega Saturn and other gaming consoles. The PC version of the game is an exact imitation of the Jaguar version. The Tempest 2000 that was released in the early 90s for the Jaguar is actually a remake of the 1981 arcade game entitled Tempest. It is basically a futuristically themed shooter.

The game is fast-paced and all the game’s elements are all pretty intense from the graphics, the sounds, and the gameplay.
The game is colorful and fun. The graphics may not be the best kind you can get from a game released during that time but it was still pretty impressive. It also features a Techno soundtrack that sticks to the game’s upbeat pace and really gets your adrenaline pumping. The music is actually one of the best features of the game. Apart from the music the voice-over was also very well done.

In my opinion the Tempest 2000 is one of the most exciting games to have come from the first half of the nineties. It was one of those games that really got me so excited from the very first time I played it. It was so addictive. Even when I couldn’t move forward

in some parts of the game, I couldn’t stop playing until I had finished the whole game.
The game had several additional features that were not available in the original tempest games. This is why it is also my favorite Tempest version. There are bonus levels, better enemies, bolder and bigger designs and other additional factors. When playing the game, you can collect power ups that will help boost your ship and your game performance. The following are the types of power ups that you can get in the game: particle laser, additional points, jump, AI droid, Warp, and other useful power ups.

The game is so fun and engaging I suggest you download the game right away to enjoy it. When you act right away and download the game, you have more time to play it and develop your skills to do well in the game. This game is definitely worth every second you spend on it. It will get your heart pounding and keep you awake many nights just trying to get really good at it. It’s a fantastic game and I highly recommend it!
