Whether or not I’m a fan of a movie, I always try the video game adapted from it. With all the video game titles that come out every year, movie adaptations are the ones that I never pass up. Maybe I’m a sucker for bad video games because that’s how most movie-to-videogame titles usually are.
Surprisingly, Terminator 2: Judgment Day is not as bad as other video games adapted from the movies. But even if not as disappointing as the other movie-to-video game titles it offers little excitement for gamers.

Surprisingly, Terminator 2: Judgment Day is not as bad as other video games adapted from the movies. But even if not as disappointing as the other movie-to-video game titles it offers little excitement for gamers. Released by Ocean in 1991, Terminator 2 Judgment Day is loosely based on the movie with the same title. The goal is to save John Connor from the T-1000. As T-800, you have to go through different stages of
fighting, shooting, driving and others. Using pistols, shotguns and other weapons, you go against the T-1000 in this side-scrolling game. Make sure not to be pushed in one corner or your dead.
In between fights with the T-1000, you have to drive through different scenes and solve puzzles. The puzzles involve restoring the arms and face of the T-800 to regain health. The scenes in the video game come straight from the movie. The graphics of the game and the cut scenes featuring characters from the movie are pretty impressive. The music and the sound effects are not impressive at all. They are just average music applied to an average game. This is a game you can play for hours when you first get it but not something you will keep coming back to. It will provide you hours of fun but it’s not something you actually look back at with fondness like the other classic video games. In fact some of the stages can be repetitive. The only truly exciting parts of the game would have to be where T1000 chases after you in his truck while you are maneuvering a motorcycle in the sewer system and the puzzles where you go against a timer.
Another flaw of the game is the fact that you can’t save it so you always have to repeat from the start. Since the game can be difficult for some people, it can also be frustrating for them not to be able to continue the game and to have to keep repeating it from the start.
Only die-hard fans of the movie would consider this game a real classic. For others, it’s just a game one can’t help but try.
