This is an excellent series of games, featuring traditional side scroll quality that's very nostalgic. I remember playing it as a kid, and when I come across versions of it now the magic is still there. Given the limited technology when Captain Comic first arrived they did a great job making use of graphics, colour, sound and options. I get a kick out of playing this game time and time again, despite having moved on to newer consoles for my more hard core gaming.
But still, there's some charm in a simply DOS game that had your little controlled man needing space suits and special gear to get through the levels. Sometimes, though, you just can't beat sitting back and remembering the magic of first using a computer and having your little adventures. I'd recommend this game to anyone who's looking for a little innocent fun that's also a challenge... especially when Captain Comic hits his low gravity zones. Look out... much harder to control than one thinks at the first go. But, if you're in the market for something inexpensive, challenging and good clean fun for your kids, this is the game for you. No blood, gore or spilled anything. Just cute graphics that won't make you cringe
to think your wee ones might be watching horrid scenes before them. It's reminicient of the orginial Mario Brothers in style, screen movement and ease of use... also in lack of scary imagery or unpleasant scenes. Challenge your kids to see who can get the highest score. I guarantee you'll enjoy it every bit as much as they will... especially when you get enough points to earn a free life and you get the hear the lively tune of "You're In The Money" chiming from your speakers. So, check it out. I'd be highly surprised if you'd ever regret it. In fact, I might have to drag out my old copy and see if the boyfriend could even stand a chance to beat me... now that's he's all Call of Duty bound. The simplicty of it all might be beyond his capabilities. Come on guys, prove to your women that you're capable of playing something where things don't explode, or where you don't get shot. Trust me, games don't HAVE to be like that. It'll be worth it in the end... just let her win a time or two to please her. :)
