Game Review (written by Tinkbragg) Added on: 12/22/2006
A rather simple Platform style of a game. Fun, easy but not exactly the best of games. The story line is a pixelated guy named Captain Comic "superhero" must recover three luxuries on the planet of Tambi that have been stolen. Captain Comic is armed with nothing but his blaster that somehow works off of what the guy actually drinks (strange and does not make much sense, but nonetheless how it works). These three items are just lying around the game along with the other items that help you along with your journey.

The boot allows you to jump higher. The corkscrew allows you to shoot enemies below your normal line

of fire. The magic wand will allow you to teleport a few feet ahead which can be useful in going through walls, getting past enemies and getting through other areas in the game that require a lot of calculated jumping. The key allows you to open doors. The lantern allows you to see in the dark (you will not need this item until the end of the game when you go into the castle, hence you don’t receive this item until just before you head to the castle) and each time you recover a stolen treasure you gain a new life.
The three treasures are gems which you recover on the moon, a bag of gold or something like that which you recover in the underground caves, and a gold crown which you recover at the end in the castle, once you recover the crown the game ends.
This was an enjoyable game when I was 6 years old. I searched out this game now to try and play it again hoping it would keep its same charm but it just does not stack up to the great games that have come out since, neither does it stack up to the great classics of such games as Mario, and lemmings. The graphics are very limited and the sound is cheesy even for its day. All in all still none the less still somewhat fun to play in 45 minutes. This game does have a very short time span with no save spots. It runs more along the line of an arcade style of a game although I believe it had been a dos PC game as well as a Nintendo NES Game. This was a rather short lived game and I wonder if the sequel is worth trying.
