Game Review (written by Poopshot000) Added on: 12/03/2008
The Punisher was one of my favorite games as I grew up... from when I was seven to about fifteen, I played every day. It is quite possibly the best game I have ever played and by playing I became better at almost every other game. It creates an illusion that you are a great hero, fighting for great and noble things, but you are really just an everyday angry, revenge ridden husband and father.

The story behind The Punisher is that during a robbery the main character's family was killed.
.. but little did he know, it was on purpose that those innocent lives were taken from this world and from him. The Punisher goes on a never ending quest to exact revenge upon his family's killers. But in the game, unlike the comic, you kill much more than just human enemies... you get to kill undead enemies and be a ruthless warrior. If you succeed to the next level you get "stronger". Either your character gets stronger or the enemies get weaker, because there is definitely a progressive change... but as I was saying, you hack and slash and shoot your way through each level killing all the enemies to win. There are different weapons and power ups that the Punisher will be able

to use, but my personal favorite was the seemingly mundane but very effective shot gun.

Since I played this game for so long I have also beaten it many times and with many victories comes much skill, making you better at all things in life, and not just video games other things too... the game makes you ruthless and non-cowardly, but most of all it makes you think about how you would react to the situation if your family all was killed in a robbery gone totally bad. The story line does a good job of immersing the user in it, which is why the entire Punisher comic series and even the movies were so popular.

So bringing you to the conclusion of this amazing and most gloriously fantastic game, you must always remember to use your shotgun because it is probably the best weapon n the game and is really cool, because no one thinks to get it right away. There is a lot of action, running and shooting in this scroller, and anyone who tries it will likely be caught up in its fast pace and addictive game play.
