Game Review (written by Eric) Added on: 03/13/2008
Thexder 95 is a remake of the Japanese platform game that was first released in 1987. In Japan the game was developed by the video game company Game Arts. It was published by Sierra Online in the United States and other Western nations. The game will have you playing the role of a pilot for the aircraft Thexder. Thexder is a high-tech, futuristic aircraft that can transform into a giant robot.
The game is composed of 50 levels divided into 10 worlds.
As you go through the levels you will be facing enemies called Techies. You need to shoot at the Techies; some techies require several hits to destroy. As you go through the levels, the techies become more and more difficult to defeat. You must also face bosses which are more difficult to eliminate than the smaller Techies. There are bonus items such as energy cells, weapon upgrades and equipments that are available for the Thexder. The more bonus items you get the easier it becomes to defeat the Techies.
Like other shooter games, Thexder 95 requires quick thinking and quick reflexes. There will be stages in the game where you need to make sure that you use your limited ammunition effectively. You also need to know the proper position for the aircraft to be in so that you can beat the game more effectively. You need to react fast to what you will see on the screen so that you can overcome the many enemies and obstacles presented in the game.
The graphics is pretty well made and the music is amazing. The game really has no major flaws in my opinion. It is well made with a good, solid fan base. It remains a classic game that will remain popular for many, many years from now.
The game is very enjoyable and I’m sure you will spend a lot of time playing this game after you download it. It may not be the best platformer ever released but it certainly is one of the best games released in the genre. The game can be played by the whole family so it really is worth all the trouble of downloading and installing. It’s also highly likely that you will keep the game installed in your PC for many years to come because it has high replay value. You can play it over and over and remain satisfied.
