TMNT: Tournament Fighters Remix

PC
Genre:  Arcade    |     Year: 2002    |     Publisher: Freeware     |     Developer: Konami
Game Review (written by Shannon) Added on: 12/29/2007
TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) Tournament Fighters was a fighting game created for Genesis and the Super Nintendo Entertainment Systems by Konami. In 2002, it was remade by fans for the Windows format, hence the Remix. It uses the M.U.G.E.N. engine and is a great fighting game for PC. TMNT: Tournament Fighters Remix is a good mirror and features all the great options from the original, including the two-on-two cooperative play mode and single player play, as well.
The story line involves four young fighters in an effort to rescue their mentor, Master Splinter, from the clutches of one of their age old enemies, Karai, and his purple turtle clone henchmen.
To reclaim their rat friend, the four fighters must travel to Dimension X and battle several major bosses in tournament fighting style. The bosses include Krang, Triceraton, and Karai himself. Other baddies include clones of the turtle fighters’ friends.
The four fighters are, of course, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Donatello, Raphael, Michaelangelo, and Leonardo, named for classical figures in world history. Each turtle has a unique attack and a weapon with which they are specialized, from nun chucks and staves, to katanas and daggers. Some turtles are more suited for close combat fighting styles, and others are more distant. The users are also allowed to play as some of the turtles’ allies, including: April O’Neil, Casey Jones, Ray Fillet, and Sisyphus.

features very fast paced action, and smooth flowing play. The controls are very easy to learn, offering only a three button control system for all types of attacks and defenses. There are two standard attacks, and one stronger attack using the keypad. The graphics are quite good…better than the original…and show no out of place pixilation. The background music is appropriate to a good fighting game and is up beat and fast. It also features a somewhat destructible environment. There are arenas where the floor can be destroyed and players can fall through it to subsequent levels below.
In short, TMNT: Tournament Fighters Remix is a great remake of an old classic and was made specifically for the PC format. It features good action with colorful graphics. The specialized moves of the individual turtles are fun to master and lend nicely to the action of the game. It comes highly recommended for download, especially for old fans of the cartoon and comic book series.

TMNT: Tournament Fighters Remix is a good PC remake of an old SEGA Genesis game, released by Konami. This game is a very decent fighting game with nice graphics and great sound effects. It reminds me a lot about games like Street Fighter. Entertaining.

TMNT: Tournament Fighters Remix. You can one-on-one with your buddys. Or play against the computer. Either is a every enjoyable game. This game brings back many memories. I loved playing it back then i loved playing it now. The same game you love playing is now on Genesis is now on your computer.

If you love Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, you'll love this game. I had fun playing this game. It was challenging yet easy to get through. I'm the kind of person that will quit a game if I get stuck, but with this game it wasn't too difficult. If you are the kind of person who likes to be challenged and strives to get through something your stuck on (in a video game) then this might not be for you.

TMNT: Tournament Fighters Remix This is one the sega classics that you will never forget. I am writing this review to get the entertainment that I experience that I got 8 years ago when I first played it. Me as a young adult enjoy coming home from rushing to the console just to play Teenage Mutanat Ninja Turtles. All the characters you seen on the movies are at your control by the press of a button. Anyone who is a fan of the gaming systems should take the time and play this game. I promise this will be one of the most rememberable games you have ever played in you life. Now it’s turtle power so forget everything else and let’s fight!
