Turrican 2: Final Flight is the sequel to the original Turrican and was released in 1991. Turrican 2 is the story of the Commander Ben McGuire who is assumed dead by The Machine, the leader of the evil forces. Ben McGuire is actually the only surviving crew of the Avalon 1 after The Machine and his men invaded the ship and killed all of the other men in Commander McGuire’s team.
Commander Ben McGuire after being certain that The Machine and his men has already left Avalon 1, proceeded to look for the Turrican Armour, a body armor made of the most technologically advanced materials.
Wearing the Turrican armor, Commander McGuire sets out to take revenge for his team blasting off aliens, and other enemy forces. There are power ups that make the lone hero stronger. The game is an action game that is straight up a jump-and-run game and it’s actually quite nice that the developers decided to develop a back story for it.
It is a light game that is very easy to control and play. There’s really no area for disappointment in this game as the concept is simple and the execution was clean. The graphics was not mind-blowing or anything but it was clean and so was the animation.
You just have to control McGuire as he jumps and runs and shoots at enemies. There are six areas
that the player must conquer with each map providing more challenges to the player. The different areas also have different themes and the stages become darker as you get closer to the end when you have to face The Machine himself.
The game is fast-paced and you can upgrade the weapons as you navigate through the different levels in the map. The weapons that will become available to you are the multi-beam weapon that can be used to fire 180 degrees, a laser that can be used to fire at the lower levels and others.
It is a simple game that can easily be learned and enjoyed. It is quite an interesting and captivating game despite having been released in the early 90s. You definitely won’t regret downloading it. This is a great game for those who like action games. Even younger players can play it because despite being an action game it does not contain too much violence and gore unlike the new action games that are being released today.
