X-Men: The Ravages of Apocalypse by Zero Gravity Entertainment is just an add-on for the quake module. You seriously already have to have quake to be able to play this game. The setting of this game is a basic war scene that could only be thought of by true X-Men fans. This thing (or person) called Onslaught has ravaged the planet for several years. The human race and other superheroes, such as the Fantastic Four and the Avengers, have all but perished in trying to stop the war and the last few X-Men are trying to recover so they can one day fight again.
The war has created a vacuum and with the help of a mystery ally, Apocalypse has created an army of evil clones of X-Men. Apocalypse just wants to have full world domination. The character that you are using in game play is a minion of Magneto. Your main goal is to kill Apocalypse and find his ally. It sounds pretty basic, but it is a very hard game to master, even on skill level easy.
You do get things like a grenade launcher, shotgun, plasma cannon and nuclear energy radiation launcher. The final weapon that you will need in the end to kill off Apocalypse and his supercomputer lab, is strewn around in pieces. In each level you have to find the different pieces
as you try to keep yourself from being killed off by the clones and other attackers.
If you follow the X-Men comic books by Marvel, you may or may not like this game. It does not have all the characters but it does have some of the good ones, including Wolverine (my favourite character). This game did not really take off like all the other X-Men games, but it is still an old classic if you prefer those types of games.
