Ah ants, a not so innovative card/strategy game that seems to be a pretty straightforward clone of a game called "Arcomage", a card game from the Might and Magic games.
“Ants” is a card game where two players (Ant colors) try to build up their fortresses and destroy the fortresses of their enemies. There are multiple types of things to build up, and each card requires a different amount of these things to play. There are multiple types of cards to play as well; some just add a wall to protect your fort, others build up your tower.
There are also attacking cards; they can do a variety of things, such as attacking the enemy wall only, tower only, or a combination of both. There are also cards that count as "spells", which can have odd effects. Now for an explanation of different parts of the game.
Sound: Having played this game there’s not many sounds that are too interesting, there’s obviously sounds that are played when cards are played, as well as a single background music theme. It isn't bad, just not particularly memorable or interesting. The sounds are not needed in the slightest.
Graphics: The graphics are pretty basic; but for this type of game, it’s not really needed to play the game. Nice pictures for everything you do, but nothing too
interesting or to speak of. Controls: Mouse controls, very basic, just pick a card and it'll be played, then your enemy will play.
Gameplay: I mentioned it before, but the game is easy to understand, all you have to do is choose a card and have at it. Saying that though, this game is not easy. Playing against another player is pretty tough, even the computer player seems to win a lot more then you'd expect. I've spend many hours playing this game even though I seem to be giving it a mediocre review ,once you get to playing it you'll be addicted.
In conclusion: this is worth a download, you'll keep playing it and playing it even though you're not sure why, and you'll keep getting beaten by the computer again and again. If you play with a person, you'll have to be very thoughtful about your strategy. If you get really good it might be worth playing the Might and Magic games that this game comes from, you can make some good money on the game.
