Game Review (written by Koolguy49) Added on: 02/18/2007
Chessmaster 2100 is one of the few chess games you'll ever find that can actually test you. Whether you’re new to the chess world or a master yourself, this is a true test of who you really are. Chessmaster will teach you play your best against man or machine. In order for you to learn chess, you must first try it against those you don't know. Unfortunately, most of us don't attend chess club. Chessmaster is also a game that was designed by the best, inputting their own ways and strategies of playing into the computer player.
Make sure you know you own strategies and moves before you come in guns blazing. Also know to take your time; though it seems the computer player takes a long time to make a move, it is false. It is just a rouse to make you think you’re giving the computer a hard time. The computer player already knows its move a split second after you make yours. Its pause is only there to lure you into a false sense of security before it tramples you to the ground two moves later.
Overall, this game is not for the faint of heart. Graphics and gameplay are the best you'll ever find a chess game. All you need is this game, nothing else. I hope you enjoy it; it's well worth the download. Be sure to take advantage and read up on chess moves and strategies. Before using them against other people you can test them against a smart artificial intelligence and see how it works in action.

Of course you still have enough options like different difficulties, tutorial, save/load a game, change color, etc. If you like chess and you have an old computer then get this game now!Jstack (10/16/2006) Awesome, smart and excellent introduction into chess. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED |
