An awesome but challenging game, Hexxagon will get you hooked on playing it in no time at all. I first played this game in my early teens and learning how to play was pretty easy. Similar to the game Flux, Hexxagon requires you to try and occupy the most spaces on the board by the end of the game. It sounds easier than it really is but once you get the hang of it you'll be playing for hours upon hours. It offers a lot of strategy, something like Chess.
There is a patterned board that your pieces move around in an effort to take over the most property.
The first time I played I was amazed when I saw the time on my desktop. I had played for almost two hours! Finding this game again brings back a lot of old memories. I remember that I always wanted to play as the bubble shaped piece only because I like the sound it made when it captured and changed all of the adjacent pieces.
Once you think you've mastered the beginner level and are beginning to understand and win the game more, you can up the ante by changing the computer's skill level to something more challenging. Being able to win just
got much more exciting because honestly, who doesn't like a challenge? Even after you think you can win everytime, you can select to play against another human player who may turn out to be just as good as you, if not better! Even if you only have a few minutes and feel like sitting down and playing a game that won't take you hours, Hexxagon is certainly for you. Each game lasts about five minutes. But be careful, you might get hooked and play a few more games than you thought. Getting bored of usuing the same board layout? No problem! Built inside the game is a board editor that allows you to custom make the starting position of the pieces as well as the setup of the board, for a new experience each time you change it!
There's no need to worry about your brain turning to mush when playing this game because your brain is actually being stimulated and you will find that your logic will receive a boost. It is rare to find a game that is fun, addictive and also works your brain but you will experience it with Hexxagon. You will be able to leave the game, once you finally work up the courage, with the satisfaction that you just spent some time well and worked your brain at the same time.
